Hi Ya'll! I was wondering who here uses theOrionT36X talking scientific calculator? I just had purchased it a few weeks ago, because I'm going to need it for taking algibra in the near future... I was wondering--since I had called both Orbit research and APH and got no responces, thought I'd try here and see if anyone
could answer my question(S). I'm going to use it to take the college math placement--it would just be easier, and since unlike high school, there is nobody there who can read/transcribe my brailled answers, they okay'd me to use this calculator to take the college math placement, of which happends to be algibra. it has a lot of problems like 3X+2XsquaredMinus2 (and even more complicated things then
that) the reason I got this calculator is because it could solve for ex, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it, and I've consulted the
manual, of which doesn't do a thing.... there was also a graphing calculator, but I didn't have it purchased because I'm not graphing, just doing algibra...
so if anyone can help me with answering this question, I'd really appreciate it! I'm going to try calling texas instriments on Monday because I need to have this figured out by next Monday.
Hi there,
I think you made an error there miss, because I think the graphing calculator is the one that can help you with finding x. Or at least, that's what helped me in high school.
Hopefully someone else can prove me wrong, as it would be disappointing for you to have to take it back.
yeah that would be disappointing for sure. since my state ordered it for me, I don't think it would be as easy to take it back, since this was the second one they've purchased for me since they ordered me a generic scientific calculator before, but it didn't have any of the algibraic functions like the OrionTX36 does.. that's strange if it doesn't do this though, because it says online that it does algibraic functions all the way up to statistics... and does algibra.. so I'm a little confused as to why it wouldn't be able to solve for EX. but I'll be calling Texas Instriments tomorrow and talking to someone there about this, and hopefully, they can help me. In generic algibra though in high school, I never used graphs, so I didn't think it was nescessary to get the graphing calculator since I wouldn't/won't be using graphs to solve for ex...
Well, I do wish you the best of luck.
Hi! Thanks! so turns out, there is no calculator that solves for ex... unless I want to re-write the equation to equal zero, and that's with the graphing calculator... oh well... looks like I'll be using the brailler and the braille book next semester lol.
